Beijing Project: Our Approach

We follow the Action Research approach: a reflective process of research-informed intervention action and action-informed research. This approach continuously improves our knowledge of the issues involved, strategies for intervention, as well as intervention practices.

Combining both effective intervention and rigorous research that builds on each other, this action research project aims to develop an evidence-based, actionable, sustainable and scalable intervention model to serve migrant students and their families, which could be easily adopted by government agencies and non-government organizations in the future.

Our team consists of two offices based in Beijing and Hong Kong, responsible for conducting intervention programs and research. Both offices engage local staff from both cities. Among the team members are those holding doctoral degrees in disciplines such as psychology, education, and public policy, as well as expert trainers with many years of experience training youths and youth workers in China and Hong Kong.
