About the Program

  • Objectives
Help Chinese youth around the world to have better self-understanding, develop their attributes of servant leadership and expand their global perspectives so that these youth will become the 21st century leaders with vision, accountability and creativity.
  • History
In the 21st century, the global communities face many challenges such as value perversion, wealth gap, materialism, and immorality. In this turbulent time, Breakthrough Limited still believes youth can find their right path and even become the next-generation leaders. Therefore, starting from 1996, Breakthrough, in a seven-day camp, fosters the Chinese youth from around the globe to discover themselves and the world, and develop their leadership attributes for their lives under "servant leadership".

Every time the camp recruits around 100 youth. Besides from Hong Kong, the overseas youth come from the U.S., Canada, England, Australia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and Taiwan. The mainland Chinese youth are from Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wenzhou, Lanzhou, Wuhan, Guangxi, Guangdong and a few others. Through different games, activities, subject talks, adventures, and outward experiential learning, these youth can expand their global perspectives from sharing and exchanging their views. Also, in different scenarios, they can particularly understand the similarities and differences from various culture and background. Together they can explore and think of how to become a visionary, accountable and creative leader in the time of globalization.
Since 2007, the camp is hosted every two years so that it can provide the participants a sustainable leadership training scheme, and support the development of youth leaders in Hong Kong in the long run. The post-camp training, like group lessons and local serving, helps the participants to further understand and develop themselves, increase their interests of societies, and strengthen their network with others. In Outward Journey, by going to overseas places overseas and experiencing real-life situations, the youth gain more understanding of the local culture, the competitive advantages and the current challenges. Such journey is so beneficial to the youth’s intellectual development and their concerns on humanity. The youth has already gone to Nanjing, Shanghai, Manila and Sichuan.
